Top 10 Christmas Movies – Blogmas Day 19

Im getting excited!

There is nothing better than snuggling up on the sofa under a really soft blanket with a cup of PG tips and some rich tea biscuits to dunk and watch a Christmas movie with your tree’s fairy lights on. A nice warm fire and some cosy slippers or fluffy socks! Christmas pyjamas on… Hmmm sounds nice!

The only thing is, is  bad film will ruin it. So here is a run down of the best Christmas movies ever!!! (In my opinion):

  1. Elf

Elf is the story of a human called Buddy who was raised by elves. When he finds out about his father he travels to New York from the north pole to find him. It is a great family comedy and is hilarious and is definitely my favourite christmas movie!

2. Home Alone

Home Alone is about a son called Kevin who gets left behind on there christmas break and has to fight of two robbers as he lives home alone.  I also love home alone 2 when he is in New York alone!

3. The Polar Express

The Polar Express is about the story of a boy who gets a ticket to meet santa and rides on the train “The Polar Express” along with other children.

4. Love Actually

Love Actually follows 8 different couples story’s and is both a comedy and a rom com. It is a 15 and isn’t really the typical family film. You also have to pay attention if you want to follow every story well.

5. The Boy In the dress, Gangsta Granny and Mr.Stink

These 3 films are movies based of David Walliams books which I read when I was younger with my dad. All three have been turned into a film by the BBC. I don’t know if you can get them on dvd but they are on bbd iplayer at this time of year and I am sure you can find them on youtube if not. They are all brilliant and exactly how you imagine them. I would definitely read the books as well. They aren’t about christmas story but it is christmas time in all of them!

6. Arthur Christmas

Arthur Christmas is Santa’s clumsy son. This movie shows a very high tech modern way that santa delivers his presents and is very believable.

7. Nativity

This film is about a schools nativity play. When there teacher announces a lie that Hollywood are coming to see there show, the whole town are buzzing and have set themselves a high task. Very funny. Brilliant family favourite. The sequel to this film is brilliant too.

8. How the Grinch stole Christmas

This is a classic film based on Dr.Seuss book about the grinch. He hates christmas and his new and only friend Cindy Lou hoo helps him love christmas again.

9. Deck The Halls

A new neighbour arrives. One family can’t see them selfs on the satellite map so light up there house in christmas lights in order to be seen. But the new neighbours can’t cope and then starts the light war. Brilliant film that not enough people know about. WATCH IT!

10. Santa Claus the Movie

A peasant man becomes the new santa, and has to help sort out an evil toy makers plan to take over christmas.

I hope you get round to seeing these films if you haven’t already!
